Crystal Habit / Mode of Occurrence

Typically prismatic crystals, often striated parallel to the prism axis. Also common as granular, massive, and sometimes columnar aggregates. Twinning is frequent, which can result in pseudo-orthorhombic shapes.

Fun Facts

When heated or struck, arsenopyrite emits a garlic-like odor due to the release of arsenic.
