Typically rose-red, but can also be pink, yellowish, brownish, gray, or white. Often banded with lighter and darker shades of pink and white.
Crystal Habit / Mode of Occurrence
Commonly rhombohedral crystals, often with curved faces. Also found in granular, massive, botryoidal, and stalactitic forms. Distinctive banded forms are also common.
